I’m completely in love with A Study in Charlotte! Charlotte and James are so deliciously complicated, their traits (both good and bad) so wonderfully mirroring those of the original Holmes and Watson, but with hints of uniqueness that are purely their own. From the beautiful brokenness of their characters, to the solace that they find with each other, I was glued to the page the whole way through. Add in the danger and thrill of a murder mystery, and I was hooked. And it wasn’t all light-hearted fun…it definitely had its darker moments too, which enriched the story in a way I wasn’t expecting. So glad to hear that this is the first of a trilogy; I can’t wait for more!
