A princess…becoming a queen…becoming a legend. That’s what I see for this series. While prisoner in Venda, we see the first glimpses of the queen that Lia could be. The presence that she commands, her compassion and understanding for the people that she once thought of as barbaric, and her desire to make a difference. With a dynamite ending, this second installment definitely left me wanting more. I love the insights we get into Kaden’s character and the country of Venda. The Kormizar is an amazing antagonist: cruel and calculating, but dedicated to his country (or at least his position of power). The only bad thing I have to say about this book is that now I have wait for the next one!
